The unifying theme within my art and design is layers: Layers of paint, wood, paper, photos, textures and patterns. Layers of depth, character and intrigue that unfold stories. Layers of calm, peace, and joy or Layers of discord, uncomfortableness, and fear. I believe there is value in contrasting layers to create balance and continuity, as well as FREEDOM & FRENZY in both art and design.
My name is Erin Foerster and I live and create Interior Design and mixed-media, abstract and collage art in Northwest Arkansas.
My creations are influenced by historical images, by the evolution and layers of built environments, and by the expanded organic-ness of my own intuition.
Whenever I am creating, I become haunted by visions of art and design that I have yet to create. The hauntings become more persistent — layered upon layers — I finally release the visions into the physical as spaces or pieces. And then, ... the hauntings begin again.
